The recent cold spell that took over most of the country this past week was a welcome change for some of us. It got me thinking about how much I love cool weather and the ability to open up the windows and snuggle up on the couch with a cozy (and chic!) throw blanket.

Throws with geometric patterns are extremely popular and add dimension and interest to whatever room they are placed in. Fold it length wise and drape over the foot of the bed or use over the corner of the sofa in the living room.

When selecting a throw take a few things into consideration: warmth, fabric, size and style. If you're looking to snuggle up with a loved one, you'll need to make sure that the throw is large enough for two. Living in an area that doesn't fall below 50 degrees doesn't necessarily warrant a thick wool throw — you don't want to just tuck into the closet after realizing it's too warm.
