The petite crimson lentils are believed to have originated in Turkey. Folklore has that it’s what Esau used to sell his brother Jacob in the Bible.
This lentil is “skinless” and cooks quickly, needing only about 10 minutes on the stove. It’s best used in Middle Eastern or Asian dishes.
Timeless Food was founded in 1987 in Conrad, MT and strives to provide solely U.S. grown organic lentils, chickpeas, peas and ancient grains. The founders also wanted to introduce crops to the land that would slow soil erosion and build organic matter while encouraging soil moisture and supplying organic nitrogen fertilizer for future crops. These products are grown in the notoriously fertile “Golden Triangle Area” in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. Timeless’s main office is located on the founder’s farm near Conrad, but production and storage can be found in Ulm.
